Convert JPG to PNG

PNG is lossless after conversion, but converting an already compressed JPG cannot restore detail that was previously lost. Processing happens in your browser; selected file contents are not uploaded.

How to use this tool safely

  1. Confirm that the destination accepts PNG and choose the original JPG.
  2. Convert it locally and wait for the reported PNG format and dimensions.
  3. Open the download and check its appearance and file size before replacing any existing copy.

Input, output, and compatibility

Input must be JPEG and output is PNG. The conversion preserves decoded pixel dimensions but PNG files can be much larger than photographic JPEGs.

What Readyvio verifies

Readyvio checks the output MIME type and dimensions. Converting storage formats does not recover detail already lost to JPEG compression or prove that a destination accepts the file.

Common questions

Will PNG improve the quality of my JPG?

No. It avoids another lossy JPEG save, but it cannot recreate detail removed before conversion.

Why did the file get larger?

PNG uses lossless compression and is often inefficient for photographs compared with JPEG.

Before you submit

PNG output is often larger than JPG. Pixel dimensions stay the same.

Readyvio is not affiliated with an issuing authority and cannot guarantee acceptance. Check the destination's current rules and keep the original file.
